On Saturday October 14th from 11am to 3pm at the First Street Green park will be the 3rd Annual Benicia Dog Festival! The Benicia Dog Festival is grateful to our generous sponsors: Valero Benicia Refinery, Bow Wow Besties, Leeann Cawley, Benicia Plumbing, Dog Training, Invesdid Financial Coaching, Benicia Boss Babes, Cathy Rojas, Krystle Properties, Creative Clips, Char’s Hotdogs. We also are grateful to all of the local businesses that have donated merchandise for our raffle drawings. NexGen K9 Dog Training is returning for the third year sponsoring the Dog&Me Obstacle Course. Local Realtor Terrin Kelly and the Benicia Boss Babes will host the Dog&Me Red-Carpet Runway Costume Contest. Local animal rescue organizations that include The Humane Society of the North Bay, Solano County Animal Shelter and Underdog Animal Rescue will bring dogs for Pet Adoptions. There are 29 Pet-themed vendor booths this year. Local dog-loving group the Bow Wow Besties are official Ambassadors of the event, Benicia Plumbing is proudly sponsoring a play area and Creative Clips will be hosting a booth pups can get their tails airbrushed different colors. In addition, Vallejo Dog Training will host a booth where dogs can paint a masterpiece. The week preceding the event Benicia First Street Restaurants will host Happy Hours where you and your dog are welcome from 5-7PM. Monday, Oct. 9th, Luccas Bar & Grill, Tuesday, Oct. 10th, The Chill, Wednesday, Oct. 11th Mare Island Tap Room, Thursday, Oct. 12th, Rookies and Friday, October 13th, Cullen’s Pub. There will be raffle prizes and giveaways! This is a free event. Bring your well-behaved leashed dogs. Proceeds raised from this event goes into a fund that assist organizations that rescue and care for animals in emergencies in our region.
